Context
The project emerges from a collaboration between the Printemps de Bourges and Kickers. Following her participation in the festival, emerging artist Tallou received pieces from the brand and asked me to initiated a visual reinterpretation of them. Supported by Kickers, the creative direction was developed with complete freedom, eventually leading to the project being shared across the brand’s own platforms.
About
This editorial pictures explores monochrome aesthetics through sculptural, almost statuary compositions. The work aligns with a visual language influenced by Rafael Pavarotti, particularly his imagery for Dazed with Rihanna. Here contrast, texture, and form construct figures that feel both powerful and timeless. At the center of the composition, a handmade socle built from recycled musical equipment acts as a grounding element. It establishes a dialogue between sound and image, material and memory. The silhouette: fully leather and paired with an afro wig, reinterprets Kickers’ heritage, grounded in the durable boots of 1970s rock culture, where function meets bold stylistic expression.
Creative search
The work questions how a brand object can exist within an artistic framework. It seeks to balance fashion imagery with a more experimental visual approach—creating a body of work that can resonate across generations while remaining in dialogue using broadly accessible products.
